Quick answer
A compost machine processes suitable organic waste biologically under controlled conditions. Grebotics S72 prepares the material with an internal shredder, then uses temperature, moisture, gas and heat-balance data to manage phase-specific conditions in a single chamber with AI-assisted control.
1. Source separation and loading
Collect suitable kitchen and food residues separately. Remove packaging, glass, metal and plastic before feeding. Composition matters alongside quantity: liquid content and hard materials affect preparation and mixture management. The loading plan follows collection times and the selected model.
2. Internal shredder and single chamber
The double-shaft shredder prepares accepted organic feedstock for the chamber. Each 250, 500 and 1000 L S72 model has one compost chamber. Chamber volume is a physical specification; daily processing arrangements depend on feedstock volume, density and feeding patterns.

The system evaluates compost and chamber temperatures, moisture, gas data and heat input/output relationships together. It interprets a temperature reading in the context of the whole process. Cornell likewise explains compost heat balance through biological heat generation and heat loss through aeration and surfaces.
4. AI manages phase-specific conditions
Grebotics assesses the bacterial phase using sensor data. Heat, air and mixing are managed according to changing biological needs. The aim is to accelerate natural conversion by optimising bacterial life cycles. Active composting can be reduced to 72 hours under suitable conditions; curing and suitability for use are assessed separately.
5. Discharge and monthly data monitoring
After processing, the output is discharged for its planned next use. Cloud monitoring records process and energy data. Monthly reports present these alongside calculated indicators such as estimated carbon benefit. All data connections and monthly reports are included for the first year with purchase. Intermediate sampling in the field video illustrates conversion; it is not a normal customer operating step.
